A couple has been remanded for four days by the Magistrate’s Court here today to assist investigations into an alleged criminal intimidation case involving an object resembling a pistol at a house in Halaman Paya Terubong.
The remand order against the two 18-year-old suspects was issued by Magistrate S Selvaranjini and takes effect from today.
The detention was granted to allow police investigations under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
Earlier, both suspects, who work as cashiers, were arrested during a raid at a budget hotel along Jalan Tun Dr Awang last night.
During the operation, police also seized a pistol along with a magazine containing bullets believed to resemble a real firearm to assist investigations.
The arrests were made after two men lodged a report claiming they were threatened by the male suspect, who was also their house tenant, following an argument between the couple.
The male suspect allegedly pointed the pistol at the two men before leaving the rented room together with his girlfriend.
Police are continuing investigations into the incident.
