Two Men Arrested in Lawas for Drug Abuse, One with Five Prior Offences

Two men suspected of being under the influence of drugs were detained during an operation in Lawas town yesterday.

Lawas District Police Chief DSP Liong Tindan said the suspects, aged 28 and 26, were arrested at around 1.30pm after police stopped them during the operation.

Urine tests conducted on both individuals returned positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Further checks revealed that one of the suspects has five prior drug-related offences, while the other has no criminal record.

The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952.
