DBKL Shuts Down Unlicensed Gaming Centre In Bukit Bintang Raid

Date:

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has shut down an unlicensed gaming centre and seized various equipment during a special enforcement operation involving three premises around Lalaport Bukit Bintang, Jalan Hang Tuah, on Wednesday.

DBKL said the action was carried out under the Special Premises Enforcement Operation (Entertainment/Gaming Centre) Series 8/2026 after inspections found that the premises were operating family entertainment and gaming activities without valid licences.

The authority said the premises were also found to have breached licensing conditions and standard operating procedures set by the relevant authorities.

Following the inspection, one gaming centre was ordered to cease operations immediately, while various equipment from all three premises were seized for further action.

“Six compound notices were also issued for various offences, including operating without an entertainment licence, failing to obtain a business licence and conducting activities that differed from the approved licence conditions,” DBKL said in a statement.

The enforcement action was carried out under the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industrial By-Laws 2016, the Entertainment Rules (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) 1993 and the Entertainment Act (Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur) 1992.

DBKL added that all seized items had been transferred to its seizure storage facility for documentation and further proceedings.

The local authority said it would continue strengthening enforcement operations and monitoring efforts to ensure all business premises comply with existing laws and licensing requirements.

Members of the public with complaints or information regarding unlicensed activities are encouraged to report them through DBKL’s official channels to assist enforcement efforts.
