Driver Claims She Was Chased And Hit After Honking At Pickup Truck In Viral Road Rage Incident

Date:

A road rage incident has gone viral on social media after a driver alleged that she was chased and her vehicle struck by a pickup truck driver following a brief horn warning on the road.

In a post shared on Threads, user @whoisfaanyway claimed she sounded her horn to alert the pickup truck driver after he allegedly began drifting into her lane without noticing her vehicle.

According to her account, the situation quickly escalated after the warning honk.

“I encountered a road bully today. I honked to alert him as he was coming into my lane. Then he chased me, cut me off again and hit my car,” she wrote.

Videos and photographs uploaded alongside the post appeared to show the pickup truck driver behaving aggressively during the encounter. The driver was also allegedly seen making an obscene gesture after the woman overtook the vehicle.

The incident quickly gained traction online, sparking discussions about road rage, dangerous driving behaviour and the misuse of vehicles as a form of intimidation.

Many social media users expressed concern over the escalating aggression often seen on Malaysian roads, with some pointing out that vehicle horns are intended as safety tools rather than acts of provocation.

“Everyone is sensitive about being honked at, even when they are in the wrong. The horn is a safety device, not a trigger for anger,” one user commented.

Another user urged the woman to lodge a police report and submit the video footage as evidence, noting that making obscene gestures in public could potentially constitute an offence.

The incident has reignited calls for stricter action against aggressive driving and road bullying, with many urging motorists to remain calm and prioritise safety when disputes arise on the road.
