Family Escapes Unhurt After Car Plunges Into Sungai Padas In Beaufort

A man, a woman and a 10-year-old child escaped unharmed after the Perodua Bezza they were travelling in plunged into Sungai Padas behind a Maybank branch in Beaufort on Saturday night.

Beaufort Fire and Rescue chief Ishak Jabas said the department received an emergency call at 8.42pm and dispatched a rescue team to the scene, located about two kilometres from the fire station.

Preliminary investigations found that the car accidentally rolled into the river while reversing.

All three occupants, aged 28, 29 and 10, were rescued by members of the public before emergency responders arrived.

Medical personnel from the Ministry of Health later attended to the victims, who were taken to hospital for further examination and treatment.
