Police have arrested five foreign men to assist in the investigation into the fatal stabbing of a man whose body was found in Bandar Mahkota Cheras on Monday.
Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said investigations revealed that the victim was a foreign national in his 20s who worked in the vicinity where the incident took place.
He said a team from the Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division detained five foreign suspects aged between their 20s and 30s as part of the ongoing murder probe.
According to Naazron, one suspect was arrested on Monday and has been remanded for six days. The remaining four suspects are expected to be brought before the Kajang Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for remand applications to facilitate further investigations.
Initial urine screening found that all five suspects tested negative for drugs. Police are continuing investigations to determine the motive behind the fatal attack.

The case came to light after police received a report at about 8.40am on Monday regarding an unconscious man in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. The victim was later confirmed dead, with visible stab wounds.
A post-mortem conducted at Hospital Kajang determined that the victim died from severe abdominal bleeding caused by stab injuries. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
