Four Men, One Woman Held Over Kidnapping Case

Date:

Four men and a woman have been remanded for 15 days to assist investigations into an alleged kidnapping case involving a 51-year-old man in Tumpat last Friday.

The suspects, aged in their 20s to early 30s, will remain under remand until June 22 after the order was issued by Magistrate Syed Farid Syed Ali on Monday.

The remand application was made to facilitate investigations under Section 12 of the Kidnapping Act 1961.

All five suspects were brought to the Pasir Mas Court Complex earlier in the morning under police escort after arriving in custody attire.

Initial reports indicated that the victim was allegedly abducted at gunpoint, triggering a large-scale police operation and multiple roadblocks across Tumpat, Pasir Mas and Kota Bharu.

Police later detained all suspects following efforts to track down those believed to be involved in the incident.

Investigations into the kidnapping case are ongoing as authorities work to determine the motive and full circumstances behind the abduction.
