Four Teenagers Arrested Over ‘Wheelie’ Stunts In Seremban 2 Road Safety Operation

Date:

Four teenagers aged between 15 and 16 have been arrested after they were caught allegedly performing motorcycle ‘wheelie’ stunts during an integrated operation targeting illegal street racers in Dataran Centrio, Seremban 2, early this morning.

Assistant Commissioner Mohd Yatim Osman said the teenagers were detained during the operation, which was conducted from 12.01am to 5am, under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said the teenagers were spotted lifting the front wheels of their motorcycles, a dangerous stunt that could put both the riders and other road users at risk.

“During the operation, 51 vehicles were inspected, while 257 police summonses were issued for various offences,” he said when contacted.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) also issued 52 PG1 notices and three inspection directive notices, while the Department of Environment took action over nine offences involving excessively noisy exhaust systems.

Authorities also seized eight vehicles during the operation, comprising seven motorcycles and one car, for various offences.

The enforcement operation highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to curb dangerous riding behaviour and road offences, particularly among young motorcyclists, in areas known to attract late-night road activities.
