Man And Child Injured In Motorcycle Crash With 4WD Vehicle

Date:

A man and a young boy were injured after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a collision with a four-wheel drive vehicle along Jalan Bukit Goram last night.

According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre, an emergency call regarding the incident was received at 9.14pm.

Six firefighters from the Kapit Fire and Rescue Station, along with a Compact Fire Rescue Tender (CFRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, were deployed to the scene.

The crash involved a Toyota Hilux and a motorcycle carrying two male victims, including a child who sustained injuries.

The child received initial treatment from Hospital Kapit medical personnel at the scene, while the other victim, aged 18, was handed over to the Health Ministry team before being transported to Hospital Kapit via EMRS.

Authorities confirmed that no rescue operation was required as both victims had already been extricated before the arrival of firefighters.

Firefighters instead carried out monitoring at the scene and assisted with the transport of the injured victims to hospital before operations ended at 9.30pm.
