Man Arrested For Brandishing Toy Gun At Jalan Kuching-Serian, Video Goes Viral

A 31-year-old man was taken into custody after allegedly brandishing a toy gun at Mile 18 along Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday afternoon.

Padawan district police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi confirmed that the arrest was made later the same day at Kampung Lintang, Mile 28. Authorities also seized the suspect’s motorcycle along with the toy gun.

The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960, and the suspect is expected to be remanded starting today.

The incident gained attention online after a video went viral, showing the man allegedly pulling out the toy gun and pretending to ‘shoot’ at a roadside pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report similar incidents, warning that even imitation firearms can lead to serious legal consequences.
