Man Kills Parents, Sister, and Grandmother Over Land Dispute in India

Date:

A 30-year-old man allegedly murdered his parents, sister, and grandmother with an axe after becoming enraged over not receiving a share of the family land sale proceeds. The tragic incident occurred overnight between Sunday and Monday at their home in Rupaideeh, India.

The suspect’s older brother was injured while trying to intervene, and the man reportedly struck his own head with a brick in an apparent attempt to cover up the crime.

The victims were identified as Badlu Ram (60), Sanju Devi (56), Parvati (42), and grandmother Sitala (80). Parvati had only visited her parents’ home two days prior to the attack.

Both the suspect and his brother are receiving treatment in a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Police have stated that a financial dispute was the primary motive, though investigations are ongoing to determine if other factors were involved.

The victims’ bodies have been sent for autopsy.
