Maxis says it has identified the individual allegedly responsible for unauthorised access to a customer’s account following a viral social media post involving the personal billing details of entrepreneur and influencer Khairul Aming.
In a statement on Tuesday, the telecommunications company said its preliminary investigation found the incident to be an isolated case with no indication that other customers had been similarly affected.

“All access to customer accounts is fully recorded and monitored. Our investigation indicates that this was an isolated incident involving unauthorised actions.
“There is no evidence to suggest that other customers have been affected on a wider scale. We will contact the customer concerned this morning regarding the matter,” the company said.
Maxis added that immediate action is being taken against the individual identified, including legal action.
“We apologise for this incident. We remain committed to safeguarding customer privacy and protecting personal data,” it said.
The statement came after Khairul Aming demanded an explanation from Maxis after his mobile phone billing information was allegedly accessed and shared by a social media user.
Earlier, a Threads user claimed that Khairul Aming had an outstanding phone bill of RM498 and alleged that his mobile line had been suspended due to insufficient payment.

The individual also claimed that a RM2,000 advance payment previously made by the entrepreneur was insufficient because of additional digital purchases exceeding RM400.
Khairul Aming, however, stressed that his phone bill was a private matter and questioned how the individual had obtained and publicly disclosed the information.
