The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting four states until 12 noon today.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said the states involved are Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Penang.
In Kedah, the affected areas include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan and Kuala Muda.
In Perak, Kerian is expected to be impacted, while the entire state of Penang is also placed under the warning.
MetMalaysia stressed that thunderstorm warnings are short-term alerts, typically valid for no more than six hours for each issuance.
Authorities have advised the public in affected areas to remain cautious and stay updated on the latest weather developments.
