MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain And Strong Winds Expected In Five States

Unsettled weather is expected to continue this afternoon, with several areas in five states placed under a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the warning covers selected areas in Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Sarawak and Pahang.

In Perak, the affected districts are Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah and Kinta, while in Negeri Sembilan, the warning covers Jelebu, Jempol and Tampin.

The warning also applies to Jasin in Melaka, as well as Bintulu and parts of Mukah, including Dalat and Matu, in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, several areas in Pahang – Bentong, Raub, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin – are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 6pm today.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions as the weather conditions may change rapidly.

MetMalaysia is expected to continue monitoring the situation and issue further updates if weather conditions deteriorate.
