A five-year-old boy endured pain after getting his finger stuck in a plastic chair while playing at his home in Taman Melaka Baru.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Assistant Director Mohd Shahrom Laji said emergency services received a distress call at 1.07pm today.
A six-member team from the Melaka Tengah Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene to assist in the rescue.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the child’s finger trapped in the plastic chair and unable to be freed.
Firefighters used a wire cutter to cut part of the chair before successfully removing the boy’s finger.
The entire operation took about five minutes, and the child did not suffer any serious injuries.
His finger was only slightly swollen, and he was reported to be safe after the incident, which is believed to have happened while he was playing and accidentally inserted his finger into the chair.
