Two houses were destroyed after a fire broke out at Rumah Libau in Kampung Sepangah, Limbang on Friday morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Control Centre said firefighters were dispatched to the scene, located about 40km from the Limbang Fire and Rescue Station, after receiving an emergency call at 10.44am.
The fire involved a four-door rented house which was completely destroyed, while a privately-owned house nearby suffered about 80 per cent damage.
Firefighters used both offensive and defensive firefighting methods to control the blaze, with water supplied from a nearby hydrant located around 500 feet from the incident site.
JBPM said no injuries or fatalities were reported, while firefighting teams continued with clean-up efforts after successfully bringing the situation under control.
The department added that the total losses have yet to be determined, while investigations are ongoing to identify the cause of the fire.
A total of seven firefighters supported by two fire engines were involved in the operation.
