Date:

A male engineer was killed early this morning after his motorcycle collided with a wild boar near Masjid Berangan in Kuala Terengganu.

Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor said they received a call from a member of the public about the accident at around 6.30 a.m.

Preliminary investigations showed that the victim, 48-year-old Azhar Yusof, was riding from his home in Kampung Bukit Berangan to the Kampung Bukit Berangan mosque for dawn prayers when the incident happened.

“Initial findings indicate the victim’s motorcycle struck a wild boar crossing the road from the left. As a result, he suffered severe injuries and died at the scene,” Azli said in a statement.

The body has been sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for further action. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
