A woman who was accidentally locked inside a bathroom resorted to dismantling the sink, smashing the door handle and breaking a PVC pipe to free herself, leaving her husband stunned by her extraordinary escape.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the woman’s husband, Ahmad Azrin, shared the incident on Threads, sparking widespread discussion among netizens.
He said his wife called him on the afternoon of Oct 14, crying as she told him she was trapped inside the bathroom. She contacted him again only after managing to escape.
After learning about the incident, Ahmad Azrin drove from Kuantan, Pahang, to Damansara, Selangor, to see his wife.
He first comforted her and urged her not to cry out of panic, telling her that she should instead be relieved and happy that she had managed to escape.
He then took her to a clinic for treatment after she injured her hand during the ordeal, leaving it swollen.
However, he was astonished by the extent of the damage caused during her escape. His wife had removed the washbasin, smashed the door handle until it broke and even snapped a PVC pipe.
“How did she have so much strength to remove the washbasin, smash the door handle and even break the PVC pipe? Thinking about it, I find my wife a little frightening,” he wrote.
The post attracted widespread attention, garnering more than 960,000 views, 5,800 shares and 1,200 comments.
Some netizens jokingly warned the husband not to upset his wife, with one commenting that he should be careful if he did not want to suffer the same fate as the washbasin.
Others likened the woman to the Hulk, suggesting she had transformed into the powerful superhero while dismantling the bathroom fixtures. Another commenter dubbed her a “female Iron Man”.
One netizen also shared a similar incident involving a woman who had been locked inside a room and used a dumbbell to repeatedly smash the door, eventually creating a hole large enough to escape.
The commenter used the story to remind others not to underestimate women’s strength.
However, some netizens cautioned that dismantling a washbasin and smashing a door handle could be dangerous and lead to injuries. They advised anyone trapped in a similar situation to contact the fire and rescue department for assistance instead.
