Nine people, mostly trainee nurses, were injured after a Ministry of Health (MOH) van carrying them was involved in an accident near Little India in Ipoh on Wednesday.
Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the crash occurred at about 7.25am while the van was travelling from the Ministry of Health Training Institute (ILKKM) Sultan Azlan Shah in Tanjung Rambutan to Buntong Health Clinic.
He said there were 11 people, including the driver, travelling in the van at the time.
“The trainees were understood to be on their way to Buntong Health Clinic for practical training. Nine people, including the driver, were injured in the incident,” he said.
Muhammad Najib confirmed that another vehicle was also involved in the crash, but said the cause of the accident was still under investigation.
