A viral post alleging that a foreign national urinated inside a train has sparked debate online, with several social media users suggesting the liquid may have been excessive sweat instead.
A Threads user uploaded a video and photos showing a man standing near a train door, with the floor around his feet appearing wet.
The user claimed the man had urinated inside the train travelling towards Kelana Jaya.
However, several social media users questioned the claim after noticing that the man was wearing sports clothing and running shoes.
“Looks like sweat because the back of his shorts is sticking to his thighs and completely soaked,” user @blondeyreveal2.0 commented.
Another user, @thyrawhos, suggested the wet floor could have been caused by sweat after the man had been running.
“That’s sweat after running. Even I would sweat that much after running until I was drenched,” the user said.
Another user, @agatha.gan, questioned whether the liquid was actually urine, adding that the man appeared to have just completed a marathon.
“If that’s the case, he should dry himself first. This is why I don’t like touching the handrails on the MRT,” the user said.
User @aweiliwei also defended the man, saying those who had never run or exercised might not realise how much athletes can sweat.
“Those who have never run or exercised may not know. This is excessive sweating, not urine. It is common among runners and athletes. Poor guy, even his sweat is being accused of being urine,” the user wrote.
Rapid KL also responded to the original post through its official account, asking for more information so that immediate action could be taken.
“Hi Hana. Could you provide the train number for immediate action?” it said.
