PDRM Warns Public Over Fake Police Escort Promotion Online

Date:

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has strongly denied any involvement in a social media post promoting or offering police escort services for luxury vehicle convoys, stressing that the content is misleading and unauthorised.

The police, through the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), clarified that it has never granted permission, endorsement, or support to any party to use police identity, logos, or impersonate traffic officers for promotional purposes.

The clarification comes after an Instagram account, madeinmalaysia.com.my, allegedly posted content suggesting the availability of police escort services. Authorities said such representations are false and have no connection with PDRM.

Following the incident, a police report has been lodged at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters, and investigations are currently underway under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

PDRM stressed that it takes the matter seriously and will not compromise with any party found misusing the force’s identity or spreading misleading content for personal gain or publicity purposes.

Members of the public are advised to avoid speculation and to verify information through official police channels. Authorities also warned that firm action will be taken against those responsible for the misuse and dissemination of false information.
