Police have dismissed viral claims that a disciplinary teacher was assaulted by a group of students at a school in Kuala Kangsar following a haircut-related incident.
Kuala Kangsar District Police Chief ACP Heisham Harun said checks conducted by authorities found no evidence that such an incident had taken place within the district.
“After conducting investigations and verification, we found that no such incident occurred in Kuala Kangsar,” he said in a statement issued late Thursday night.
He also confirmed that police had not received any report related to the alleged assault.
“We advise the public not to speculate or make negative comments regarding the claim,” he added.
The allegation had circulated on social media, claiming that a disciplinary teacher was attacked by several students after cutting a student’s hair during a disciplinary action.
The incident was alleged to have occurred at approximately 11.30am on Wednesday.
Earlier, Perak Education Committee chairman Khairuddin Abu Hanipah reportedly said state education authorities were looking into the matter following the circulation of the claims.
However, police investigations have so far found no evidence supporting the allegation.
Authorities have urged the public to verify information before sharing it online and to avoid spreading unconfirmed reports that could cause unnecessary concern or confusion.
Police also reminded social media users to act responsibly and refrain from circulating unverified claims that could affect individuals or institutions involved.
The matter is considered closed unless new information emerges, authorities said.
