Police Officer Stabbed During Patrol in Pudu, Suspect with 14 Criminal Records Arrested

A police officer was stabbed in the abdomen while conducting a routine check on a suspect along Jalan Yew in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, this afternoon. According to Berita Harian, the suspect—a 56-year-old man with 14 prior criminal records—was swiftly apprehended after attempting to flee the scene.

The incident occurred during a patrol by officers from the Pudu police station. The suspect reportedly used a knife to stab the officer before making a run for it. However, he was arrested nearby shortly after the attack.

The injured officer was immediately taken to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz in Cheras for treatment, while police recovered the knife believed to have been used in the assault.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said a formal statement will be issued once investigations are complete.
