A police corporal was allegedly assaulted by two Myanmar nationals while responding to a complaint about excessive noise in Kampung Pamah Kulat early on Friday morning.
The officer, who is in his late 30s, suffered swelling to his head and body after he was allegedly beaten while carrying out his duties at about 2.45am.
Acting Pahang police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the incident happened after police received a complaint from residents about two Myanmar men who were allegedly drunk and making excessive noise by the roadside.
The two men, who work at a durian farm, were reportedly playing loud music through a speaker, disturbing nearby residents.
“The officer approached and reprimanded the suspects, who were believed to be intoxicated at the time and were making noise by playing loud music through a speaker by the roadside.
“The suspects became dissatisfied and immediately assaulted the officer,” Azry said in a statement.
He said no weapons were used during the incident, while the officer suffered swelling to his head and body.
Police subsequently arrested both suspects, aged 26 and 30, to assist with investigations.
The two durian farm workers are expected to be remanded tomorrow, with the case being investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code for assault or criminal force against a public servant in the execution of their duty.
