A technician in his 30s has been arrested after allegedly hurling a stone at a car during a road rage incident along the Sungai Besi-KL-Seremban Expressway on Saturday.
Cheras police chief Rosdi Daud said the suspect, who was riding a motorcycle at the time, was arrested at Jalan Suasa 3 in Sungai Besi at about 1.15am on Sunday.
He said the incident reportedly occurred at around 2pm when the suspect allegedly threw a stone at the complainant’s vehicle, causing its rear windscreen to shatter.
Initial investigations found that the incident may have stemmed from a misunderstanding, with the suspect reportedly upset after claiming that the vehicle had boxed in his motorcycle.
Rosdi said the suspect has been remanded for three days until Sept 1 to assist with investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
If convicted, the offence carries a prison sentence of between one and five years, a fine, or both.
Police are continuing their investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the road rage incident.
