Teen Girl Killed After Motorcycle Collides with Trailer in Batu Pahat Tragedy

Date:

A teenage girl died after the motorcycle she was riding collided with a trailer at Kilometer 7 on Jalan Bukit Pasir–Tongkang Pechah on Tuesday afternoon.

Batu Pahat District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani, said the incident occurred at around 4:30 pm.

“The accident is believed to have happened when both vehicles were traveling from Sri Medan towards Tongkang Pechah. Preliminary investigations indicate that as the vehicles reached a junction, the trailer turning right caused the motorcycle to hit the side of the heavy vehicle,” he explained.

The motorcyclist suffered severe head injuries and multiple internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail (HSNI).

The 43-year-old trailer driver was uninjured.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
