Three grocery shops located in shop lots opposite the Kuala Terengganu City Council (MBKT) Bus Terminal have been seized after being found operating without valid licences during an integrated operation on Tuesday.
Kuala Terengganu Mayor Datuk Bandar Lizan Che Mat said the enforcement action was carried out in cooperation with the Terengganu Immigration Department, beginning at about 11am.
Checks found that all three premises had committed offences under the MBKT Trade, Business and Industry Licensing By-Laws 2013.
Following the violations, seizure action was taken under the same by-laws, allowing immediate enforcement against the affected premises.
The businesses involved were identified as Syafiqah Maju Enterprise, Cahaya Tanjung Enterprise and RR Damai Jaya Trading, according to authorities.
All equipment and goods inside the premises were also confiscated and transported to the MBKT Enforcement and Parking Services seizure store in Chendering for further action.
The integrated operation in the busy area concluded at about 1.30pm after all enforcement actions were completed.
The premises had previously gone viral on social media, with claims that they were operated by foreign nationals for business activities.
