Russia struck the headquarters of Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile network operator, in Kyiv on Sunday, the company said, as Moscow continued attacks on Ukraine’s communications and data infrastructure.
Kyivstar told Interfax Ukraine that its head office in the capital had been hit, but no casualties were reported.
Russia’s Defence Ministry also said its forces had struck a data centre belonging to Vodafone Ukraine, the country’s second-largest mobile network operator.
Vodafone Ukraine did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia had struck a data centre in Kyiv twice on Sunday morning, injuring two children and an adult.
The attacks come after Russia targeted other data centres operated by Ukrainian internet providers over the past week, according to Ukraine’s digital ministry.
The strikes reportedly disrupted services for around 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russia was deliberately targeting major Ukrainian data centres in an attempt to disrupt the flow of information.
“Rapid alerts about missile and drone threats are essential — they save lives,” Sybiha wrote on X on Wednesday.
