Tragic Road Accident Claims Lives Of Two Young Women In Jengka

Date:

Two women were killed after the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) they were travelling in was involved in a collision with another car along Jalan Besar Jengka 19, near a fishing pond area in Jengka, Pahang, on Friday evening.

The victims, believed to be sisters aged 19 and 23, were confirmed dead at the scene following the crash.

According to Pahang Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Assistant Director Mohd Salahuddin Isa, emergency services received a distress call regarding the incident at 6.47pm.

He said a team from the Jengka Fire and Rescue Station was immediately deployed to the location, which is about 26 kilometres from the station.

Upon arrival, firefighters found both victims trapped inside a Toyota Unser MPV which had overturned due to the impact of the collision.

Medical personnel on site confirmed that both women had died at the scene.

Mohd Salahuddin said another vehicle involved in the accident, a Perodua Axia, had its occupants removed and transported to hospital by members of the public before rescue teams arrived, making identification difficult at the scene.

Firefighters later used specialised rescue equipment to extricate the bodies from the overturned vehicle.

The remains of the victims were handed over to police for further action, while investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
