Two Men Arrested After Testing Positive For Drugs In Bau Operation

Two men aged 28 and 40 were arrested after testing positive for drugs during an operation carried out in Bau on Wednesday afternoon.

In a broader context, authorities continue to intensify routine enforcement operations in efforts to curb drug abuse cases at the district level.

Bau district police chief Superintendent Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the arrests were made by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division together with personnel from the Bau District Police Headquarters at about 3pm.

He said preliminary urine tests found both suspects positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

The suspects are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 to assist further investigations.

Both men are currently being held in custody at the Bau police lock-up.

Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in drug abuse activities under the provisions of the law.
