Two Motorcyclists Killed After Crashing Into Stalled Lorry On Second Link Expressway

A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed after their motorcycle collided with the rear of a stalled lorry on the Second Link Expressway last night.

Both victims, aged 53, died at the scene in the 9.03pm crash at Kilometre 0.6 of the northbound carriageway.

Deputy district police chief Superintendent Saifullah Jaya@Yahaya said the lorry had stopped on the emergency lane due to engine failure.

He said the motorcyclist crashed into the right rear of the stationary lorry, causing both riders to be thrown off the vehicle.

Both victims suffered severe head injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene.

The bodies were later sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post-mortem examination.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.

Police have urged witnesses or members of the public with information to contact the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department at the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters to assist investigations.
