Police have identified the driver of a car allegedly seen squeezing another vehicle in a viral road incident along Jalan Pantai Sepat, Kuantan, and have taken action against the motorist.
Kuantan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ashari Abu Samah said investigations led police to identify both the driver and vehicle involved in the incident.
He said the driver was called in to assist with the investigation, with his statement subsequently recorded.
“Two traffic offence notices were issued against the driver,” he said.
The vehicle involved was also seized under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 to facilitate further investigations.
Ashari said police are also investigating whether the incident involved any other offences under the Road Transport Act 1987.
He urged road users to remain patient, control their emotions and practise tolerance while driving.
“Any form of provocation or aggressive behaviour should be avoided as it could lead to accidents and endanger the safety of the driver and other road users,” he said.
Ashari also advised motorists involved in road disputes not to take matters into their own hands.
“Instead, prioritise safety and submit any relevant information or recordings to the police for appropriate action,” he said.
