Woman Attacked From Behind While Walking To Work Near Wangsa Maju LRT Station

Date:

A woman walking alone to work in the early hours of the morning was left terrified after a man allegedly grabbed her from behind and pinned her to the ground in a dark street in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.

The incident is believed to have occurred at 5.52am on Oct 20 along a street in Desa Setapak, near the Wangsa Maju LRT station.

CCTV footage circulating on Facebook showed the woman walking alone when a stranger suddenly approached her from behind, grabbed her and forced her to the ground.

The woman screamed in fear as the man held her down, with the frightening encounter reportedly lasting about 20 seconds.

The footage then showed the man fleeing the scene, apparently fearing that he might attract attention, while the shaken woman remained seated on the ground.

Several members of the public subsequently rushed over to help her up and check what had happened.

Meanwhile, a reporter has contacted Wangsa Maju police for further information, but no response had been received at the time of writing.
