AMANAH Confident Of Winning Six Seats In Northern Johor Zone, Says Aminolhuda

Date:

AMANAH is confident of winning at least six out of the 10 state seats it will contest in the northern zone during the Johor state election next month.

Johor AMANAH chairman Aminolhuda Hassan expressed the optimism but did not reveal which six constituencies the party believes it can secure.

The 10 seats contested in the northern zone include Kemelah (Sekijang), Tenang (Labis), Serom (Ledang), Maharani (Muar), Simpang Jeram (Bakri), Bukit Pasir (Pagoh), Parit Yaani (Sri Gading), Semarang (Ayer Hitam), Rengit (Batu Pahat) and Mahkota (Kluang).

Aminolhuda said the party’s candidates comprise a mix of new faces, experienced politicians and previous election candidates.

“We have 10 candidates and they are all present with us tonight. However, we cannot reveal their identities until they are officially announced,” he said after launching the AMANAH Johor election machinery for the northern zone.

He added that the official candidate announcement would be made by PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the near future.

According to him, five new faces will be fielded alongside incumbents in the upcoming election.

“We have a good chance to reclaim Parit Yaani; it is a winnable seat for us,” he said.

For record, Johor has 56 state seats, with AMANAH contesting 19, DAP 17, and PKR 20.

In the 2022 state election, Barisan Nasional secured a strong mandate by winning 40 seats, while DAP won 10, PKR and AMANAH secured one seat each, PN won three, and MUDA one.
