A Bersatu leader has expressed optimism that the party will be able to secure several seats in the Negri Sembilan state election, citing encouraging feedback from voters during the campaign period.
Bersatu information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz said the positive response towards the party’s candidates had strengthened their confidence ahead of the voting process.
He hoped the support shown by voters would be reflected through their choices at the ballot box.
“Hopefully, this positive reception can be translated into votes today,” he said when met by reporters at Institut Perguruan Raja Melewar in Sikamat this morning.
Tun Faisal, who is contesting the Sikamat state seat, said his experience in government would be an advantage in delivering services to residents if he received the mandate to represent the constituency.
The Sikamat seat is witnessing a three-cornered contest involving Tun Faisal, Pakatan Harapan candidate Nor Azman Mohamad and Perikatan Nasional’s Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
The closely watched contest is among several battles in the Negri Sembilan election, with candidates relying on voter support to determine the political direction of the state.
