Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced a one-off RM1,000 financial assistance payment for taxi and school bus drivers under Budget 2027.
The initiative will benefit 38,000 taxi drivers, including rental taxi drivers, as well as 15,000 school bus drivers, bringing the total number of recipients to 53,000.
The assistance aims to help drivers manage operating expenses and ease financial pressures amid rising costs.
The measure forms part of the government’s wider Budget 2027 initiatives to support transport workers and those providing essential public transportation services.
