C Joseph Vijay Thanks Anwar Ibrahim For Congratulatory Message On Tamil Nadu Leadership Role

Date:

Popular Tamil film star-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay has expressed his appreciation after receiving congratulatory remarks from Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim following his appointment as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Vijay thanked Anwar for the warm wishes and said he is committed to strengthening ties between Tamil Nadu and Malaysia.

“I am deeply honoured to receive such warm congratulations from the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. I sincerely appreciate the kind words and recognition,” he said.

He added that he looks forward to enhancing cooperation and fostering closer friendship between Tamil Nadu and Malaysia, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration between the two regions.

The exchange followed Anwar Ibrahim’s earlier congratulatory message posted on Facebook, where he welcomed Vijay’s appointment and expressed enthusiasm about working closely with him in the future.

Anwar noted that Malaysia and Tamil Nadu share long-standing historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties that have been built over generations, describing the relationship as deep and meaningful.

The Prime Minister also expressed hope for stronger bilateral cooperation, saying both sides could benefit from closer engagement under Vijay’s leadership.

In a light-hearted remark, Anwar referenced Vijay’s long career in cinema, where he often portrayed characters fighting corruption and injustice, before noting that the real-life responsibility now entrusted to him is far greater than any role he has played on screen.

The exchange has drawn attention on both sides, reflecting the growing cultural and political links between Malaysia and Tamil Nadu.
