Government Reaffirms Strong Support For Young Moto3 Star Hakim Danish Ramli

Date:

The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Malaysia’s young Moto3 rider Hakim Danish Ramli, announcing a funding allocation of RM1.8 million for the 2026 season.

Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said the allocation will be channelled through sports matching grants in collaboration with the Sepang International Circuit (SIC), as part of ongoing efforts to develop the career of the 19-year-old rider on the world stage. He stressed that athlete development is a long-term national investment that requires coordinated support from multiple agencies.

He added that the government has not reduced any funding for Hakim Danish, and remains fully committed to ensuring consistent financial support for his training and international racing campaigns. According to him, such continued investment is crucial to maintaining Malaysia’s competitiveness in global motorsports.

Taufiq said a total of RM8.93 million has been allocated since 2021 by KBS and SIC for Hakim Danish’s structured development pathway, which includes progression through the Asia Talent Cup, European Talent Cup, Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, FIM JuniorGP, and now the Moto3 World Championship. This step-by-step programme is designed to systematically build elite-level racing talent.

In addition, SIC has provided an early funding allocation of RM453,000 to support Hakim Danish’s participation in the 2026 Moto3 season, further strengthening his preparations at the highest level. The minister also highlighted the importance of private sector involvement in supporting national athletes through tax incentives offered for approved sports contributions.

At the same time, KBS emphasised its broader goal of producing more world-class riders through sustained grassroots development programmes. The long-term ambition includes nurturing additional talents such as Qabil Irfan Azlan to ensure Malaysia continues to produce competitive athletes on the international motorsport stage.
