“No One Is Above The Law”: Says PH After Najib’s House Arrest Decision

Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Presidential Council has stressed that no one is above the law, saying anyone convicted of an offence must serve their sentence in accordance with the law and the Federal Constitution.

The council also reaffirmed its support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s position, as well as the advice given by the Attorney General and Federal Territories Minister to the Pardons Board.

“ The Presidential Council also stresses that no one is above the law.

“Anyone who has been convicted must serve their sentence in accordance with the law, as stipulated in the Federal Constitution,” it said in a statement on Friday.

The statement was issued after the PH Presidential Council meeting, chaired by Anwar, ended following more than an hour at the Perdana Putra building in Putrajaya.

The meeting began at about 5.30pm, with several vehicles carrying PH leaders seen leaving the venue from around 7pm. The meeting was attended by Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and PH secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The council also reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption, advancing the Reform agenda and eliminating corruption and abuse from the country.
