President of AMANAH, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, has called on the public to continue supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to remain as Malaysia’s leader.
The Kota Raja MP said that any desire to change the Prime Minister should be carried out through the next general election rather than through other means.
He added that instead of placing hopes on alternative leaders who may not materialise, it is better for the people to maintain their support for Anwar.
“If we feel like changing the Prime Minister, then wait for the next election,” he said during his speech at the PH Convention 2026 at the Persada International Convention Centre here today.
“I also have aspirations to become Prime Minister. Anthony Loke may find it more difficult. But instead of hoping for something that may never happen, it is better to continue supporting Datuk Seri Anwar,” he added.
On the Johor state election, Mohamad said federal allocations and development efforts for the state would continue regardless of which political coalition wins.
He stressed that the federal government does not discriminate based on political affiliation when it comes to the welfare of the people.
“Across the country, we do not look at party colours. Those who work hard, we support. Those who do not, even if they are from the same side, we do not,” he said.
He cited agriculture and food security as examples, saying Johor would continue to receive federal support ahead of the state election.
“For agriculture and food security, RM201 million has been allocated for Johor. That will not be withdrawn. The people of Johor are Malaysians,” he said.
He added that there are no plans to reduce allocations, and suggested that additional funding could also be considered to strengthen food security initiatives in the state.
