Pakatan Harapan (PH) has completed the allocation of seats for the upcoming state elections in Johor and Negeri Sembilan, according to its leadership.
PH secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the distribution among component parties was finalised during a recent PH secretariat meeting he chaired.
He noted that there had been overlapping claims involving one seat each in both Johor and Negeri Sembilan, but said the matter had since been resolved internally.
Saifuddin added that the final list of candidates will be presented to the PH presidential council for formal endorsement before being announced.
The Johor State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 1, while the Negeri Sembilan assembly was dissolved on June 5 ahead of the upcoming polls.
In the 2022 Johor election, PH secured 12 out of 56 seats, while Barisan Nasional (BN) formed the state government with a two-thirds majority.
In Negeri Sembilan, PH won 17 of 36 seats in the 2023 election and formed the state government alongside BN, which secured 14 seats, while Perikatan Nasional took the remaining five.
