Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has confirmed that it has not received any resignation letters from its Members of Parliament, effectively dismissing speculation that a party lawmaker could be stepping down.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Fuziah Salleh confirmed the matter when contacted by Sinar Harian, saying there had been no such submission as of Friday.
“Not so far,” she said briefly.
The speculation emerged amid growing attention on several PKR MPs who have recently appeared to differ from the party leadership over various political developments.
Three PKR MPs have previously taken positions that differed openly from the party leadership, including voicing criticism of certain decisions and the direction taken by its leaders.
Their differing positions subsequently fuelled speculation over their future within the party, particularly amid wider political developments.
The group of MPs also claimed that their access to the MyKhas system, which is used to manage applications for Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) and constituency allocations, had been restricted.
The Government, however, clarified that allocations for the affected constituencies had not been stopped. Instead, their implementation was being handled through the Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) and relevant agencies without being channelled through the MPs’ offices.
Despite the speculation, no PKR MP has so far made any official announcement regarding resignation from the party or relinquishing their parliamentary seat.
