PM Anwar Demands Immediate Release Of 16 Malaysians Detained In Gaza Mission

Date:

Malaysia has strongly condemned the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 (GSF2.0) bound for Gaza by the Zionist Israeli regime, which reportedly led to the detention of more than 100 activists, including 16 Malaysians taking part in the humanitarian mission.

In a statement shared on Facebook, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim demanded immediate guarantees for the safety and release of all those detained.

He described the interception of the humanitarian aid mission as a blatant violation of human rights and international law, accusing Israel of attempting to silence humanitarian voices and block assistance meant for the Palestinian people.

“The rude actions of this cruel regime against a humanitarian mission not only violate human rights and international law, but also expose the Zionist regime’s relentless efforts to shut down aid channels, suppress humanitarian voices, and oppress anyone who rises to defend the people of Palestine,” he said.

Anwar stressed that the international community must not continue to remain silent in the face of what he described as injustice and oppression committed against Palestinians.

He further called for an immediate end to all forms of oppression against Palestinians and individuals involved in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, insisting that Israel must be held accountable for its actions.

The incident has once again intensified global attention on humanitarian access to Gaza, with growing calls from various nations and advocacy groups for the protection of aid workers and civilian activists involved in relief missions.
