Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he continues to work tirelessly despite his age because he is determined to elevate Malaysia into a model nation in the region through an administration built on integrity and service to the people.
Speaking at the Grand Finale Jelajah Kekal Harapan programme on Wednesday night, Anwar acknowledged that his government has yet to resolve every issue but pledged to keep improving the quality of governance for the benefit of Malaysians.
“I govern as an old man, but I work like a young man. I love this country, and I want to raise its standing. I want Negeri Sembilan and Malaysia to become model states in the region, but we have to work hard,” he said.
Anwar admitted that while the government has done its best, there is still room for improvement.
“Have we done enough? Not yet. I am the first to admit that. I apologise for any shortcomings and weaknesses because I want this state to be governed well,” he added.
The prime minister said the success of any administration should not be judged by claims that it has solved every problem, but by its commitment to carrying out its responsibilities honestly, transparently and with integrity.
He reiterated that his government would continue working to strengthen governance and deliver better outcomes for the people.
