Sanusi’s Lawyers Issuing Legal Demands Over Alleged Misrepresentation Of Speech

Date:

Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said his legal team has begun issuing Letters of Demand (LODs) to individuals accused of misrepresenting his recent speech on history delivered in Negeri Sembilan.

Sanusi said more individuals are expected to receive similar legal notices if they are found to have distorted, exaggerated or commented on his remarks out of context.

“The Letters of Demand are currently being handled by my legal team. There are many more on the list who may receive similar notices based on their actions,” he said in a social media post on Tuesday.

He alleged that those targeted had twisted his statements, added claims he never made, commented based on inaccurate information and manipulated the meaning of his speech for their own purposes.

Sanusi expressed hope that the legal action would serve as a lesson to others.

Last Saturday, the Kedah Menteri Besar announced that he intended to pursue legal action, including filing defamation suits, against parties he claimed had manipulated his remarks on history for political gain.

He also said police reports would be lodged against those accused of distorting his speech, maintaining that his remarks were based on historical facts and were not directed at any race or specific group.

Among the first individuals reported to have received a Letter of Demand is Selangor PKR election director Dr Sathia Prakash Nadarajan.
