Seven Ministers And Eight Deputy Ministers To Be Sworn In Following Cabinet Reshuffle

Date:

A total of seven ministers and eight deputy ministers will be sworn in today before His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, following a Cabinet reshuffle under the MADANI Government.

The Presentation of Appointment Letters and Swearing-in Ceremony is scheduled to take place this morning at Istana Negara.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, announced the new ministerial and deputy ministerial appointments yesterday, along with several portfolio changes. The reshuffle comes in response to vacancies within the Cabinet and the need for administrative adjustments.

Among the key changes, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, formerly the Minister of Plantation and Commodities, has been appointed as the new Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry. Meanwhile, former Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh has been named Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Federal Territories.

The reshuffle also includes the promotion of six deputy ministers and one new figure to full ministerial roles. Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir has been appointed Minister of Economy.

In addition, Sungai Petani Member of Parliament Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari has been named the new Minister of Youth and Sports.
