Sultan Ibrahim Receives Anwar Ahead Of 69th National Day Celebrations

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, received Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Istana Bukit Tunku here ahead of the country’s 69th National Day celebrations tomorrow (31 Aug).

During the audience, Anwar briefed the King on the latest developments in the country, including preparations for the highly anticipated National Day festivities.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim expressed his hope that the celebrations would run smoothly and that everyone involved would give their best in marking the important occasion.

“I hope the independence celebration proceeds smoothly and I look forward to seeing all those involved give their best in commemorating this very important event in our nation’s history,” he said.

Preparations are also in their final stages at Dataran Putrajaya, which is expected to welcome thousands of participants and spectators for the celebrations.

The event will feature a display of national assets alongside colourful performances, with activities planned to showcase Malaysia’s identity and patriotic spirit.

This year’s National Day celebration carries the theme “Malaysia Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, with programmes designed to strengthen patriotism while celebrating the country’s history, identity and journey as an independent nation.

As Malaysians prepare to mark the 69th National Day, the celebrations are expected to bring together people from across the country in a shared display of national pride and unity.
