The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, together with the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, has advised the public to remain cautious when engaging in water activities, particularly in high-risk areas such as beaches and rivers.
In a statement shared via the Pahang Royal Facebook page on Sunday night, the royal couple stressed the importance of safety measures, including the use of life jackets when at sea or in open water. They also cautioned the public against carrying out unsupervised activities or venturing into unsafe locations.
They further urged parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s movements and safety, especially near water, to prevent any untoward incidents. The reminder was highlighted as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public awareness on safety precautions.
The royal couple also emphasised that being vigilant, aware of surroundings, and adhering to safety guidelines can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and help save lives.
In the same post, the Sultan and Tengku Ampuan expressed condolences to the families of two students, Luqman Kamil Jamaluddin, 16, and Muhammad Fauzan Aziman Mohd Saad, 18, who were found drowned in separate incidents in Kuantan and Maran earlier in the day.
They prayed that the deceased be placed among the righteous and extended wishes for strength and patience to the grieving families as they cope with their loss.
