Trump Declared In ‘Excellent Health’ Following Annual Medical Examination

Date:

U.S. President Donald Trump has been declared to be in “excellent health” following his latest annual medical examination, according to a report released by the White House.

The assessment was provided by White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella, who stated that Trump remains physically and mentally fit to carry out the responsibilities of both Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.

Trump, who is set to turn 80 next month and is the oldest person ever inaugurated as U.S. president, underwent the medical evaluation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earlier this week.

According to the medical report, the president demonstrated strong cardiac, pulmonary and neurological function. He also achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used screening tool designed to evaluate memory, attention and other cognitive abilities.

The report revealed that Trump currently weighs 238 pounds (108 kilograms), an increase of approximately 14 pounds since his previous examination in April 2025. His physician said the president has been advised to continue focusing on diet, physical activity and weight management while remaining on medication to control cholesterol levels.

Medical findings also showed Trump’s resting heart rate at 73 beats per minute, with doctors estimating his cardiovascular age to be roughly 14 years younger than his actual age.

Barbabella attributed the president’s overall condition partly to his demanding daily schedule, which includes high-level meetings, public appearances and regular physical activity, particularly golf.

The report also addressed concerns that had surfaced in recent months regarding visible bruising on Trump’s hands and swelling in his legs.

According to the physician, the bruising was consistent with minor soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking while taking aspirin as part of a cardiovascular prevention programme. The report described the bruising as a common and harmless side effect of aspirin use.

Meanwhile, doctors noted that mild swelling remains in Trump’s lower legs but said the condition has improved compared to last year.

In 2025, the White House disclosed that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which veins in the legs struggle to efficiently return blood to the heart, potentially leading to swelling in the lower limbs.

The medical report stated that the president continues to take aspirin alongside two cholesterol-lowering medications and remains up to date with recommended health screenings and vaccinations.

Trump has previously acknowledged taking higher-than-recommended doses of aspirin over the past two decades, saying he believed it helped maintain healthy blood circulation. He has also openly stated that golf remains his preferred form of exercise, while expressing little interest in traditional gym workouts or treadmill routines.

The latest examination marks Trump’s third publicly known medical check-up since returning to the White House and is likely to renew discussions about the health and fitness of world leaders as age continues to be a major topic in modern politics.
