US President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch another military operation against Iran if Tehran refuses to agree to negotiations, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
Speaking at a rally in Florida on Friday, Trump referred to Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury, claiming the two operations had severely damaged Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
He then raised the possibility of further military action if Iran failed to agree to a negotiated settlement.
“We might do another Epic Fury, or they will agree,” Trump said.
“If they are smart, they will just say, ‘Let’s start negotiating’,” he added, while expressing doubt that Iran would take that approach.
The war, which began in late February, remains unresolved despite a ceasefire and a memorandum of understanding aimed at finalising a peace agreement.
The United States and Israel have reportedly developed plans to resume attacks against Iran after the US midterm elections.
Israel is also scheduled to hold parliamentary elections on Oct 27.
